You can usually find a Parade in Blowing Rock during the major holidays, a music festival when the weather is perfect and Ashe County celebrates the holidays with Christmas in July! You don’t want to miss Blowing Rock Winterfest for some Polar Plunging and the area is well-known for Art and Food Festivals like Art in the Park (May-Oct) and The Blue Ridge Wine and Food Festival (April). Boone Music Festivals are a plenty with Merle Fest in Wilkesboro (April) and Music Fest n Sugar Grove (July). And there are the major festivals which draw 20,000+ visitors like the Woolly Worm Festival and the Highland Games on Grandfather Mountain that are must sees for locals and bring in visitors statewide each season. The High Country is truly a year-round destination and the plethora of Events, Parades and Seasonal activities is a testament to that!
